Supporting Cultural Competence Activities in the New York State Office of Mental Health

About Supporting Cultural Competence Activities in the New York State Office of Mental Health Project

We partner with the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), in particular the Bureau of Cultural Competence (BCC) and the Center of Excellence for Culturally Competent Mental Health at the Nathan Kline Institute, on a variety of activities to promote culturally-competent mental health services in the OMH system.

Recent activities have included participation in Regional Centers of Excellence (RCE) work groups, collaboration with the Bureau of Workforce, Education, and Training to modify safely curriculum, as well as reports on unmet needs and including cultural competence in healthcare reform.
